Once you've received your replacement device, you've got four easy steps to get started.
STEP 1: Request a SIM swap

Got your new SIM? You can now begin setup on your replacement device.
STEP 2: Transfer your data, then reset
If you have your original device and it's still usable:
- Back up your data from your original device to the cloud, including your contacts, messages, photos and other personal content.
- Then, reset your phone to factory settings and disable the screen lock, passwords, or any tracking applications (e.g., Find My).
If you cannot use your original device:
- Power on your replacement device and follow the prompts to install your SIM, restore any backup data you may have saved to the cloud, and finish setting up your new device.
STEP 3: Return your old device to us (if applicable)
Use the prepaid envelope you were sent to mail your unlocked, original device within 10 business days. If you do not return it within this timeframe, you may be charged a non-return fee of up to $1500 by Asurion, our device protection partner.
STEP 4: Get the most from your Optimum Mobile service
Turn on WiFi calling to improve call quality indoors and reduce dropped calls.
Keep your operating system up to date. If you ever run into service issues after activation, check to see if you're on the latest version of your device's operating system.
