Unlock your phone before you switch to Optimum Mobile

To use a phone from another carrier, it must be unlocked. An unlocked phone can be used on any compatible network. Ask your current carrier to unlock it. Each carrier has its own rules, so check their policy.

Before you start

  • Most carriers require that the phone isn't reported lost or stolen, is paid off, and that your account is in good standing.
  • Check that your phone works with us first. Use the Optimum Mobile compatibility checker.

Request an unlock

1. Find your carrier in the table below.

2. Open their unlock policy and follow their steps.

3. When your carrier confirms the unlock, insert your Optimum Mobile SIM or set up your eSIM. If you're asked for an unlock code, the phone is still locked.
