How should I package and ship my Trade-in device?

Once you've received your trade-in offer and submitted your order to purchase a new device, you will receive an email with the shipping label for your trade-in. If you do not receive this shipping label within a couple of hours after your order, be sure to check your spam folder.

Before you ship your device, make sure that you have disabled the activation lock, backed up and removed your personal data (including your memory card or SIM card, if your device has one), and factory reset your device. Then, place the device in a box with enough padding to keep it safe in transit.

Your shipping label will actually contain a receipt and two labels.

  • Inside the box: carefully wrap your device (include paper, bubble wrap, or other padding to prevent damage in-transit), then place it and the receipt included with your Trade-in shipping label.
  • Outside the box: place both the Merchandise Return Label and the Lithium Battery warning label.

Be sure to seal the box, and then use standard shipping via USPS. Please note that failure to include all four of these elements may result in problems processing your Trade-in.

If you are trading in multiple devices, be sure to pack and ship each device separately.
